Description
The Algicare dressing is composed of alginic acid fibers that have calcium, sodium, manuronic and guluronic acid in its
formularization with the property to absorve the exsudate of the wound and to transform into gel. This gel becomes a
propitious humid environment to cellular growth. The formation of this hydrophilic gel on the surface of the wound allows a reaction of ionic exchange between calcium of the alginate, the sodium of the blood and the exsudate, originating a soluble composition, the calcium-sodium alginate.
Indication :
Arterial ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, estase ulcers, skin donor areas, venous ulcers, second degree burns and hurt by attrition.
The Algicare dressing is made up of interlaced acid alginic fibers, each with diameter of 15 microns, which form a non-woven fabric of 150 g/m2 approach. Able to remain in the wound for up to 7 days. The product is sterilized by radiation gamma. Each unit of the product is individually packed in a composed cartridge of surgical paper and polyethylene film.
